Snacks To Much On During Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a time of significant change and advancement for you and your developing baby.  You must feed your body the right foods during your pregnancy to ensure both – your health, and the healthiest possible growth for your baby. Healthy snacks help in keeping the energy levels in check, manage cravings and provide essential nutrients to the body. A few healthy snacks to munch on:

Fruits:

Fruits like apples, bananas, oranges and berries are rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. The natural sweetness present in the fruits helps to reduce sugar cravings during pregnancy.

Greek yoghurt:

Greek yogurt is filled with protein and calcium. Protein and calcium are good for you and your baby’s bone health. Add some fresh fruits to it to make it healthier.

Nuts and seeds

Healthy snacks such as almonds, walnuts and chia seeds are rich in protein, fibre, healthy fats and omega-3 fatty acids. These snacks are good to munch on during pregnancy.

Vegetable sticks with hummus:

Another good healthy snack option during pregnancy is pairing vegetable sticks like carrots and cucumbers with hummus. Hummus provides plant based protein and vegetables are rich in minerals and vitamins.

Boiled eggs:

Eggs are rich sources of protein which makes it a protein packed snacking option during pregnancy.

Snacking during pregnancy doesn’t have to be very complicated but it should be nourishing and healthy. Remember to keep yourself hydrated and enjoy one of these snacking options.
